Day 5341 viewsAntonette gets a cold :-( But she was a trooper and didn't let it get her down. She even went snorkeling with me!

338 viewsSean Paul Kinney was one of the deckhands (and budding childrens author) on the snorkeling trip and was great company. We had some drinks at Cool Cats (spelling?) and then enjoyed dinner at the Aloha Mixed Plate restaurant. Here he is making recommendations. Another fine example of the great people we met during our visit.

336 viewsAt the place where we went to snorkel was a road-side vendor. Jasmine was the proprieter and had some nice souvenirs. We bought a bamboo wind chime and Honu (turtle) necklace. She was a kick and a fine example of the Hawai'ian friendliness. If you want handmade Hawaiian/Polynesian jewelry, baskets, arts & crafts then contact her at pualaniopikake@yahoo.com.

328 viewsThe bridges are only wide enough for one vehicle at a time so the first one there gets to cross first.

Day 6326 viewsThe Road to Hana! Based upon the recommendation of my parents, we took the Valley Isle Excursions tour van and are VERY glad we did. It's a VERY narrow road - with only room for one vehicle in many locations (beep your horn!) - and too much to see. Our driver was Maui native Kekoa (Kekeoa?) and had a great sense of humor and exceptional knowledge of the region. He also had a 1957 Type I (Bug) and drag raced a 600+hp Bug at one time so we had plenty to talk about.
