198 viewsThe blue circle shows where the collar will be located, within the steering column collar. Note that in this picture the collar isn't pushed all the way in -- it's a pain to remove it as you have to get under the steering column and use an object to pry the collar free from the retaining rings on the nozzles. Once I had it out I wasn't about to put it back in just for a picture. If you have one in your car you'll see it, plain as day, and you won't be able to remove your switch gear out until that damn collar has been pried out.Jul 19, 2006

914 views(This is a copy of the last picture but the disassembly is the opposite of the assembly :-) ) Unbend the tabs surrounding the retaining nut and remove the nut. Grab the top of the sender assembly and pull the tube away from the top. This will expose the float and wires.Jul 05, 2006

773 viewsSnug the nut down but don't over-tighten! Carefully bend the tabs back over the nut to keep it secure and from rotating. If that nut falls into the tank consider it gone and your outer tube will drop to the bottom of the tank and clunk around, possibly damaging the sender's wires!Jul 05, 2006
